Concierge Auctions, the nation's preeminent luxury real estate auction firm, has appointed Richard Laver as a representative. Laver will assist in the company's expansion in Palm Springs, California and throughout the Coachella Valley, announced Concierge Auctions CEO George Graham.

"We are excited to have Richard join the Concierge Auctions team," Graham stated. "His extensive relationships in the real estate and business community, along with his knowledge of Palm Springs and other luxury home markets in the desert, will be a great asset to the company. As the heightened inventory levels of luxury real estate continue to pose a challenge in Southern California and throughout the United States, Concierge Auctions is well positioned to assist sellers with their disposition goals."

Laver will be responsible for originating business for Concierge Auctions from banks and other regional financial institutions in the Coachella Valley, by educating them about the benefits of the Concierge Auctions process, which obtains fair market value for high-end properties in a determined time frame in an open, competitive forum.

"The Coachella Valley and other high-end regions in Southern California have suffered greatly over the last few years, and it has become extremely difficult to market and sell luxury properties through the traditional brokerage methods," Laver noted. "Currently, 800 homes over $1 million are listed in the Desert Area MLS, while only 203 have sold year-to-date. At the current absorption rate, it will take an average of three to four years for each of the currently listed homes to sell.

"With its global platform including a database of more than 10,000 luxury real estate buyers and agents, Concierge Auctions has experienced great success by creating competition for multimillion dollar estates across the country," Laver added. "I look forward to the opportunity to assist in the company's expansion in the desert markets."

Laver was previously a top broker at RE/MAX and Marcus & Millichap, selling luxury homes and apartment buildings in Los Angeles. In 2005, he sold the highest priced property at RE/MAX. He has also brokered numerous land acquisitions in Southern California. More recently, he founded Reliable Reo cleaning services in response to the record number of foreclosures occurring in Southern California, and today his company operates throughout the region.
