NEW CANAAN, Conn., Nov. 2, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Wexford Hall, a private and storied New Canaan estate designed in 1929 by world-renowned architect William B. Tubby, just an hour commute from New York City, will sell at a live auction on December 2nd. The auction will be conducted by Concierge Auctions in cooperation with William Pitt Sotheby's International Realty. Originally listed for $22 million, 544 Oenoke Ridge will sell to the highest bidder at or above a $6.75 million reserve.

"The silent auction helped gauge market demand, and we are now excited to continue the bidding during a live auction on December 2nd. Registrants from the silent auction will be joined by any new bidders who would like to become involved, and can compete either in person or via the phone or Internet," stated Laura Brady, Vice President of Marketing for Concierge Auctions. "With a reserve of $6.75 million, the highest bidder at or above this price will be able to ring in the New Year as the proud owner of Wexford Hall. This is a rare opportunity to own one of Fairfield County's most storied trophy properties for a great value."

Designed in 1929 by noted architect William B. Tubby, who also designed the Waveny House in New Canaan and Dunnellen Hall in Greenwich - both award-winning and highly-acclaimed architectural estates, Wexford Hall has been painstakingly and lovingly preserved. The 15,910-square-foot main residence offers eight bedrooms, nine full bathrooms and three half bathrooms, is privately located in the center of the 6.26-acre property, and is protected by a nearly-quarter-mile-long dry stone wall. The estate also includes a three-bedroom guest house, carriage house, pool, and manicured gardens. The property was enhanced with a major renovation and addition in 2004, which seamlessly blend the historical craftsmanship with appreciated modern amenities.

The auction of 544 Oenoke Ridge will be conducted "live" on December 2nd. A 2.5% commission is offered to the buyer's representing agent. See Auction Terms and Conditions for full details. The property will be available for preview Thursday-Sunday from 1 to 4 pm and daily by appointment. For more information visit OenokeAuction.com or call 877-214-3785.
