Jun 19, 2017
NEW YORK, June 19, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Leading global auction firm Concierge Auctions has announced that Gary Nicklaus will sell his custom estate in South Florida's exclusive Bear's Club community — founded by the elder Nicklaus — to the highest bidder on June 28-29th as part of the firm's Summer Portfolio Sale. Encompassing 19 properties around the world, the portfolio sale is specifically targeting Chinese real estate investors and will commence in Hong Kong. Non-Chinese bidders may also bid from any continent via the Concierge Auctions custom mobile bidding app.
Located at 209 Bears Club Drive and set on three private acres within Nicklaus' world-class signature golf course, the six-bedroom home is comprised of an open main room with detailed coffered and vaulted ceilings; a gourmet eat-in kitchen featuring arched windows; a master suite offering a spacious closet; club and theatre rooms; and an exercise room.
The home's expansive outdoor entertainment area features a covered loggia, an island bar with a kitchen and seating area, a fireplace with a BBQ pit, a resort-style pool and hot tub, a tennis court and basketball hoop. Additionally, while 209 Bears Club Drive is thoughtfully landscaped for privacy, the property can easily be reconfigured to feature extensive views of the course. The home also shares the community's premier living experience with some of the world's most notable athletes, including basketball legend Michael Jordan and pro golfers Michelle Wie and Ernie Els, among others.
Upon the sale of the property, Jack and Gary Nicklaus will work personally with the new owner to develop and implement plans for a custom, personal par 3 hole to be built on the adjacent lot.
"There is simply no other golf club community in the world like Jack Nicklaus' The Bear's Club. The quality of life, residence, and course are unsurpassed," stated the seller, Gary Nicklaus.
Previously listed for $12.5 million, the Jupiter estate will sell at or above $6.95 million in cooperation with Mark Griffin of The Bear's Club Sotheby's International Realty. The property is open for previews daily from 1-4 p.m. EDT and by appointment.
