ASPEN, Colo., July 10, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- A handcrafted residence on the Roaring Fork River in downtown Aspen has been sold by New York-based luxury auction firm Concierge Auctions in cooperation with Steven Shane of Shane Aspen Real Estate. As interest flooded in from around the world, the buyer made an acceptable offer, and the property went under contract prior to the scheduled bidding date. The sale, which closed this week for $11 million, is Concierge's third in the Aspen area in six months and its second over $10 million. Lorrie Winnerman of Lorrie B. Aspen represented the buyer.

The seller, Bill Coleman, is no stranger to smart business decisions. He began his professional career in the U.S. Air Force as chief of satellite operations in the Office of the Secretary of the Air Force and has since served as Founder and CEO of various software companies including BEA Systems, which was acquired by Oracle. Coleman reflects fondly on his partnership with Concierge Auctions: "It was a true pleasure. I found the entire process very professionally done."

Located at 1110 Waters Avenue, the 7,400-square-foot-plus mountain estate was inspired by the famous style of Architect Bernard Maybeck and took nearly four years to complete. Once honored by the renowned American Society of Interior Designers, the home was designed by Architect David Warner of Lipkin Warner, with interiors by Steve Stein of Miller Stein Design. Custom features include the finest in cherry, mahogany and hickory woodworking; ceilings acoustically engineered by Charles Salter of the San Francisco Opera House; and driveway cobblestones retrieved from the historic Larimer Square in Denver. The private lot offers prime Aspen Mountain views and access to the Roaring Fork River.

"I represented a bidder at a prior auction Concierge conducted in Aspen, but this was my first time to partner with them as a listing agent," stated Shane. "Once they got started, they were like a well-oiled machine. The Concierge approach is tailored for each property, but they have the steps down to a science. From their marketing preparation to personalized sales efforts, the sense of opportunity they conveyed to potential buyers and an effective timing strategy were critical to our collective success. They are certainly experts and invigorating to work alongside."

"Our firm is well-known in Aspen for securing buyers for outstanding properties in the market," stated Concierge Auctions VP, Mike Russo. "Within 24 hours of launching this auction campaign, an offer acceptable to our seller was received. Our process is ideal for spotlighting opportunities and driving urgency, which was proven seamlessly with this assignment."

Upcoming luxury property auctions are underway in Alaska, Colorado, Florida, Hawaii, Indiana, New Mexico, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Utah, Virginia and Canada, and many more are scheduled for the Summer and Fall.
